Discussion Post: Economic Growth
In tandem with recent class discussions and reading materials referred, please choose one (or more) developing countries you are familiar with and write an essay that addresses the following points:
• Brief historical background of the country
• Describe current geopolitical, socio- cultural realities and human development status, using the major tools for, Human Development Index.
• Describe current political landscape and how that dictates or has dictated economic growth and development.
• In light of the classic theories of economic growth and development describe the development approach of the country.
• Describe country's role and engagement in regional and global development initiatives dealing with issues such as poverty, inequality and climate change.
• Any other conclusions and recommendations you may have.
You are expected to apply and discuss principles of economic growth and development you have acquired so far. You are highly encouraged to use global and national reports, indexes, and other contemporary information to substantiate your discussion. Please reach out if you have any questions on this.
