The research project will describe and analyze an issue, experienced by an (your observation at public place)/ some organization, which requires, required, or will require a resolution to be determined through the process to analyze the organizational decision making. At least three scholarly references (excluding course texts) should be utilized and properly cited according to APA standards. This group project accounts for 20% of the final grade.

The research project assignment must be turned in on time and in the prescribed format. The paper should be no shorter or longer than 1,000- 1,500 words. As in any professional environment, the paper should be typewritten and carefully crafted using proper structure, grammar and spelling. The paper should be double-spaced and prepared using the APA format. Guidance for this style can be found in a number of sources, including the book entitled A Writer's Reference, listed above as a supplemental text.

Following a one or two paragraph proposal for the research project to be submitted in the second week of classes, the full paper should comprise the following:

o Purpose is obvious
• Introduction
o This section should contain a brief reason for the problem and what your paper will present.
• Background
o This section should be a brief history of how the target organization got to its current state and a description of the problem requiring the change in organizational behavior.
• Statement of Problem
o Describe in detail the issue facing the organization.
• Description of analyzing the decision-making process
o Explain here the process you chose to resolve the issue. Include the research procedures people involved and the method of implementation. Propose an evaluation system to assess the effectiveness of the new plan.
• Conclusion
o Discuss the results of the analysis, if you know them. Bring the paper to a close.

Students must submit an electronic and a hardcopy of the paper on the thirteenth week in a professional manner. Papers submitted late without good cause will be reduced one letter grade per day late. Any work found not your own (i.e. someone else's), and without proper citation and attribution, will be considered plagiarism and a failing grade will be applied.
