Assignment task:
Five specific discussion posts related to various readings will be structured into the course. These discussion posts will involve Family Artifacts. Each student is required to find an article, YouTube video, comic, and/or another piece of media or writing that, from that week's readings, demonstrates and depicts the marital/family concepts in today's society, the student's ethnic culture, or specific aspects of faith and other facets of diversity. The student will share the artifact in Canvas by Wednesday of each week. In addition to sharing the artifact, the student will explain its relevance to family/couples counseling and describe one application to working with families. By Saturday evening, each student will respond to two classmates' posts. The responses can be two video responses or one video and one text. They cannot be two by text.
Response posts: When responding to other posts, use the A-B-C method, which includes (1) Acknowledging your peer by name, (2) Broadening the discussion by providing supportive or alternate points of view, and (3) Concluding your response by offering a reflective or application open-ended question to ponder. When you use closed-ended questions (did, do, does, is, are, etc.), they elicit only one answer. You want them to answer in a way that elicits more information about their thoughts and feelings. Your response post focuses on your peer's original post-it does NOT include any of your initial post or personal story. Need Assignment Help?
