Problem
The needs statement of a grant presents facts and evidence to support the physical activity program you are proposing. Provide evidence showing that there is a need that can be met specifically by the program you are proposing. (The program I am proposing is adding more well lit parks and facilities for indoor and safe activities for community members)
An effective needs statement:
1) Describes the target populations to be served
2) Defines the community problem to be addressed
3) Is related to the purposes and goals of your organization
4) Includes quantitative and qualitative documentation and supporting information
5) Does not make any unsupported assumptions
6) Describes the situation in terms that are both factual and of human interest.
