Define glycolysis
Glycolysis or the citric acid cycle in which the direction of the reactions is well defined, the interconversion reactions of the HMP pathway can function in several different directions. The rate and direction of the reactions at any given time are determined by the supply of and demand for intermediates in the cycle.
