Crosskey brothers is investing retained earnings in investments earning positive returns. These investments have resulted in growing EPS. Can one assume that common stock prices are also increasing are also a reult of these investments?
- Yes b/c higher earnings indicates higher dividends and therefore higher stock prices
- No earnings will grow regardless if investmnts are earning a positive return. Investments will only create a shareholder value however if their returns are greater than their opportunity cost of capital.
