Attend a public speaking event (such as a campus/community event or a municipal meeting). After the presentation, think about the speech relative to the topics we have covered in this class.
Write a three to four page paper synthesizing both the content of the speech and critiquing the presenter’s speech and performance. When critiquing the speech remember to consider all major aspects of creating and performing a speech. Consider topics such as: how well did they plan and format their speech? Did they consider their audience? How well did they use visuals? Were their nonverbal behaviors effective? Was it informative or persuasive and how well did they execute it? Remember to provide examples backing up each of your claims.
