Excel Document:

This is the copy of the assignment directions.

For this exam you will be creating a worksheet for the XYZ Widget Company. Start with a blank workbook; save it to the desktop or your flash drive, filename is your last name. Save your work often!

General Instructions:

Your worksheet will contain sales data for five salespeople for a three year period. The years are 2007, 2008, and 2009. You will make up the salespeople's names and their sales amounts.

Your worksheet will have the title Yearly Sales Comparison that will be in the first row centered across the columns using merge and center.

Your worksheet will have a total column to represent the total three years sales for each salesperson and a total row that will represent the total sales for each year.

Your worksheet will have an area at the bottom under the total row that contains the average, minimum, and maximum sales for each of the three years.

You will enhance the look of your worksheet by formatting the numbers as dollars with two decimal places and adding font and color enhancements. Also, you will use conditional formatting of data bars in the total column.

You will create a simple column chart to represent the sales data (do not include calculations in this data). The chart will have the title Sales Data, and the legend should be visible in the chart area. Place the chart at the bottom of your worksheet so that if printed, it will fit on one page.

General Steps:

1. In cell A1 type your worksheet title.

2. In row 3 enter your column titles.

3. In rows 4 through 8 enter salespeople and their sales amounts (you make this data up).

4. Add your row and column total formulas.

5. Add your maximum, minimum, and average formulas for each year.

6. Add your worksheet enhancements: font, colors, dollar formatting, etc.

7. Add conditional formatting of data bars to total column.

8. Create a column chart (Looks up how to do a column chart online) and place it under the other data on your worksheet. Add a title & legend and be sure all data is readable.

9. Add a header with your name in the left header box & today?s date in the right header box.

10. Print Preview your sheet to make sure all data is visible, easy to read, & fits on one page.

When you are satisfied with your work, upload it for grading.
