Assignment: This assignment will address the following objectives:
CO-2: Analyze a business case study by applying Systems Analysis and Design concepts, principles, processes, and techniques
CO-3: Apply industry driven techniques for designing, developing, deploying, and securing enterprise applications.
CO-4: Develop major life cycle deliverables like Vision Document, SRS (Software Requirements Specification) , or SDD (System Design Document).
CO-6: Create models using Structured Analysis and Design (SAD).
Assignment Design: Entity Relationship Diagrams and File Design
Purpose:
The purpose of this assignment is to create an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) to use as a model for the database design of the Case Study. You will place it in the SRS and SDD specifications and submit both documents. Need Assignment Help?
Directions:
1. SRS. Copy and rename your last submitted and corrected SRS from Assignment 3 like Week6DraftSrsERDLastnameFirstname using your name.
2. SDD. Copy and rename your last submitted and corrected SDD from Assignment 5 like Week6DraftSDDERDLastnameFirstname using your name.
3. SRS. Complete Appendix D in your SRS.
2.1 SRS. Create an ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) for the Case Study using diagrams dot net. Your ERD should include entities and their attributes including the designation of primary keys and foreign keys. The ERD diagram includes relationships (like association, inheritance, aggregation, composition, etc.) to other entities. Make certain that you include the names on the association relationships with the multiplicity constraints. See the Tune Source ERD in Figure 6-14 on p. 239 in your textbook. Place your ERD in Section D.1.
2.2 SRS. Complete Section D.2Entity Definitions. Use the template "A NameOfClass is a ...." and complete the sentence. For example, "A Patient is a person who is registered with FCS and receives services". In this example Patient is the name of class. The relationship is the phrase "is a".
2.3 SRS. Complete the discussion of your entity relationship diagram in section D.3.
2.4 SRS. Make any corrections to your previous SRS and list them in Section D.4.
4. SDD. Place a copy of your ERD in Section 5.1 in your SDD and include a description of the design.
4.1 SDD. In Section 5.2 of your SDD, describe any need for non-DBMS files.
4.2 SDD. in Section 5.3 list any corrections to the previous SDD.
Submission
Submit both your SRS and SDD
