Connection between strange fears, darkness, thoughts

Problem: King has a belief that each person has "irrational fears" leading to his belief of everyone being mentally ill. Because of this he is writing to show that in his perspective the connection between strange fears, darkness, thoughts, or even irrational emotions may occur on certain occasions. When he says this, he doesn't take into a literal sense but rather a metaphorical or even an exaggeration. He goes on to use the example of going to see a horror movie, although we're scared, we enjoy the adrenaline, or in his words "... show that we can, that we are not afraid...". King even goes as far to compare the differences of degree of sanity a person can have, and the differences in how society treats these levels. Respond to this classmate's answer to question #1 and argue against it. Ask yourself: What are the flaws in their argument? Is it valid? Did they support their answer with examples from the text? Are they effectively analyzing King's statement? Need Assignment Help?
