Persuasive essays:
Papers should be 1000 words (about 4 double-spaced pages in Times New Roman 12cpi) and no longer than 1250 words (about 5 double spaced pages in Times New Roman 12cpi).
Machiavelli and Rousseau represent completely different political philosophies. Machiavelli’s theory highlights how a prince can go about constructing a viable government while Rousseau’s describes what society should be and argues that people should be free. In an essay, explain how each writer believes society should be ordered. Which approach seems most convincing to you and why?
