Mission
The Centre is committed to proving state-of-the-art care in Diabetes and the Associated Conditions of Diabetes. The Centre is designed to provide community-based access to service excellence through our focus on the key needs of our clients. Our commitment is to enable wellness, embrace learning and to expand the therapeutic horizon.
Enabling Wellness
Direct care is provided by experienced specialists in Diabetes. Our Centre provides culturally sensitive educational materials and other tools to enable wellness in our patients. The Centre provides a Registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educators to provide education and supportive counselling to our patients. To enhance the spectrum of care we also provide on-site electrocardiography and phlebotomy services.
Embracing Learning
Our team of professionals is dedicated to supporting and empowering our clients with personalized developed tools. Our Centre physician Dr. J, a key opinion leader in his field provides regular continuing education and host symposia and workshops for the physician community. Dr. J. on a regular basis publishes articles for the physician community. To further enhance our credo of embracing learning, we provide continuous learning opportunities to both our in house educators as well as those in the communities surrounding us.
Expanding the Therapeutic Horizon
Our Centre has participated in over 100 Clinical Research Studies, at the forefront of medical research. Embracing our credo of expanding the therapeutic horizon, we continue to help develop future therapies and provide early access to these promising tools to our patients.
Our commitment to providing optimal Endocrine health care to each patient extends through all members of our multi-disciplinary team. Working together, with the latest in education, tools and therapies, we provide with the most complete care in disorders of Diabetes and the Associated Conditions of Diabetes

The service philosophy for the Canadian Centre for Research on Diabetes is grounded in the notion that care delivered by the diabetes team is evidence based, accessible to all regardless of ability, race or religion and underpinned by up to date knowledge in diabetes care. Every person with diabetes, who and is referred to the Canadian Centre for Research on Diabetes will be treated with respect and dignity. Every patient will receive a full assessment of clinical, emotional and spiritual need. An agreed treatment plan will be developed to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved. The aim of every consultation is to assist people with diabetes to strive towards self management and understanding of their condition.
