Problem: Two sleep disorders discussed in Chapter 4 of the textbook are insomnia and sleep apnea. Both of this disorders make it difficult to fall asleep and create issues in deep sleep. Insomnia is when the individual has difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early and not feeling rested. Sleep apnea is when the individual has a breathing related disorder which causes the individual repeatedly stops and starts breathing during sleep. The difference between the two is that insomnia mainly affects sleep onset and maintenance while sleep apnea disrupts sleep due to a physical airway obstruction and carries higher risks for cardiovascular problems. In chapter 4, the explanation of two dream concepts are discussed. The first being manifest content, where the individual remembers images or storylines from a dream. The second is latent content, which represents the hidden psychological meaning behind the dream. Consciousness is defined as awareness of ourselves and our environment. Circadian rhythms are biological rhythms that help regulate sleep-wake cycles, hormone release (melatonin), and body temperature. Disruptions of these rhythms can affect mood, cognition, and overall physical health. Give response to the discussion. Provide reference in apa format. Need Assignment Help?
