First, schools should provide more training so all teachers understand how trauma affects students behaviour and learning. Second, SEL should be practiced daily, not occasionally, so students can build these skills consistently. Third, schools should increase access to mental health support such as counsellors and more. Additionally, there should be a greater focus towards student empowerment by giving students their voice and choice in their learning.
