Cold Hardiness and Cold Acclimation
In connection with cold response we would like to introduce two terms- cold hardiness and cold acclimation.
- Cold-hardiness refers to the ability of a plant tissue to survive ice formation.
- Cold-acclimation refers to the gradual changes in a plant from a freezing-sensitive to a freezing-resistant state upon exposure to cold conditions.
