Holoblastic & unequal. First plane is meridional. 2 blastomeres are formed. 1 megamere & another micromere.

2nd plane is also meridional but at 90° to first one.

It takes first in larger blastomere, so for short time 3 celled stage is formed followed by 4 celled stage of embryo.
