Chromosomal dna in yeast

Bacterial DNA containing the operon encoding three enzymes is introduced in chromosomal DNA in yeast (eukaryote) in such a manner that it is properly flanked by the promoter and the transcriptional terminator. The bacterial DNA is transcribed and RNA correctly processed, but only protein nearest the promoter is produced. Can you recommend why?
