Project instructions Purpose
The project will provide you with experience working in small teams and applying class material to create a successful strategic plan.
Note on SWOT analysis and Note on strategic plans explain how to earn 100% credit for content and analysis.
The project consists of the following:
Choose an organization which may be an existing company, nonprofit organization, or an idea for a new business, for- or non-profit., and submit it for approval. Since only one team may work on an organization, choices will be approved first come, first served.
If the organization has multiple businesses, the subject of your strategic plan must be at the business level of text and must fall into at least one of the following categories:
1. it is in serious trouble
2. it is facing disruptive external change
3. it has not yet begun to operate.
For example, a brand-new business for Procter & Gamble would be approved.
P&G would not be, because it is at the corporate level, nor would support departments such as IT or HR, or functions within a business, because they are at the functional level.
Submit the organization for approval with the following:
a. the organization's name
b. background if you have any doubt that I am familiar with the organization
c. the relevant category or categories (1, 2, 3 above) with evidence why.
