Question: People may learn from failure, but they can also be haunted by it. Authors frequently use a character's failure to add meaning to a work of literature.
Choose a full-length work of literary merit you have studied during this course. In a well-written essay, analyze how a character in that work learns from or is haunted by failure. Also analyze how the character's failure adds to the work's overall value. Do not merely summarize the plot. You can choose from The Great Gatsby, A Streetcar Named Desire, Their Eyes Are Watching God, and Jane Eyre.
