Boys and Girls” and Hamlet

Father-daughter relationships are portrayed both in “Boys and Girls” and Hamlet, in the characters of Polonius and Ophelia. What factors serve to complicate these relationships? Are there the same issues in a mother-son pairing such as that of Hamlet and Gertrude?
