Four (4.0) lbm of CO2 are contained in a piston-cylinder system. The CO2 is initially at a temperature T1=500°R and pressure p1=20 psia. The CO2 undergoes the following two processes:

Process 1-2: adiabatic compression from state 1 to state 2 with T2=800°R and pressure p2=160 psia

a) Calculate the change in entropy (Btu/R) for the CO2 for the above process. Comment on whether or not process 1-2 is possible for an adiabatic system.
