Blowing soap bubbles
Soap films and bubbles serve very well for observations on surface tension. You can make a good soap bubble solution by placing three level tablespoonfuls of soap powder or soap flakes into four cups of hot water. Let the solution stand for three days previous to using. Try blowing bubbles with a bubble blower, a soda straw, a clay pipe and an old tin horn about 4 cm in diameter.
