Part A - Calculate the external support reactions

The 3-m sign post is supported by cable AB and a pin at C. The post supports the distributed load shown. Determine the tension in cable AB and the support reaction's components at C. Reported signs must agree with the coordinate system provided.

PART B. Beam AC has been cut at D, and the left section is shown. Draw vectors that represent the internal normal and shear forces in the beam at D (and note that there is also an internal bending moment at D). When sectioning at D, the original beam is sectioned. Only the portion of the distributed load acting on the section appears on the free-body diagram.

PART C. Beam AC has been cut at D, and the left section free-body diagram is shown. Calculate the internal resultant normal force N, shear force V , and bending moment at D, M. Use the sign convention for internal resultant loading in a beam.
