Assignment: Case Analysis - Terry Schiavo
This case analysis is the second case analysis based on topics we have discussed in early modules of the course. To analyze a case, you will use scholarly resources and the knowledge you've gained from the course so far to support your work.
To complete the case analysis, consult the Terry Schiavo Case Analysis Guidelines (attached). Be sure to use the readings in the guidelines to complete this assignment. While you are welcome to use other sources as well, it is not necessary.
1. Examine the role of advance directives in supporting autonomous decision-making.
2. Differentiate between decision-making standards and articulate when they apply.
3. Analyze the ethical complexities involved in decisions to withhold or withdraw artificial life support.
4. Recognize the ethical ambiguities that arise in attempts to define death.
