As pointed out in this chapter, job opportunities for accountants and auditors in the accounting area are expected to experience strong growth between now and the year 2016. Employment opportunities range from entry-level positions for clerical workers and technicians to professional positions that require a college degree in accounting, management consulting, or computer technology. Typical job titles in the accounting field include bookkeeper, corporate accountant, public accountant, auditor, managerial accountant, and controller.

a. What types of activities would a person employed in one of the accounting positions listed above perform on a daily basis?
