Area chamber of commerce

The Tampa Bay (FLA) Area Chamber of Commerce wanted to know whether mean weekly salary of nurses was larger than that of the school teachers. It is thanked that the historic variances of each group's weekly salary aren't the same. To investigate, they collected salary information upon the amounts earned last week by the sample of school teachers as well as nurses. The data can be found on our Excel worksheet. Suppose the underlying data distributions are both Normal.

a. Is it reasonable to conclude that the mean weekly salary of school teachers is lower at a .05 level of significance? Why?

b. Are the two groups significantly different at a .05 level of significance? Discuss how you arrived at this conclusion. For this, suppose you were capable to re-sample and sample data were exactly the same as those in Part (a).
