We can understand that the job of an applied anthropologist from the medical perspective is to advocate for medical ethics. In the U.S., is the healthcare system still patient-oriented? Are we more focused on making money off our patients than we are on their actual health? Are we training medical students to focus more on diagnosing or making the patient feel more comfortable in their time of need?
