Are all ethical principles embodied within the law

Assignment task:

What would be your response/feedback to the following answer to the question: Are all laws ethical and are all ethical principles embodied within the law? Do we all share the same ethical standards?

"I think laws and ethics go hand in hand. However because ethics are based on what people think on a personal level there is a large scale of variety that isn't perfectly reflected within laws. I believe that laws try to be as fair as possible and try to be based on the general publics sense of ethics, but since laws are determined by the same types of people I believe minority groups are overlooked. For example, there was a time where women couldn't vote. No women were allowed to add their voices to the political discussion. In this sense it is clear that there is favoritism within laws, but overall I do believe that laws demonstrate and dictate rules to protect society (for the most part)"

After reading my answer to the question, what is your feedback/response?
