Your journal 4 task is to identify how the HIS interface that uses the smart handheld devices can be aligned with the organisation’s existing business processes. You may choose any three key business processes in the hospital, e.g. emergency response process, outpatient discharge process, pharmacy drug administration process, etc. The plan should outline how the device will integrate with the existing Technical Architecture of the HIS. Pay specific attention to the data, integration, security and collaboration components of the technical architecture.

Journal tasks:
1-Identification and brief explanation of the business processes selected. Include how these processes can be measured and a baseline established before the implementation of handheld devices. Outline and recommend why these measures have been selected and how they can be used once the solution is in place to measure success. Include a definition of success.
Use of modelling diagrams is not mandatory but is highly recommended and should be rewarded in marking
2-Provide a high level logical architecture to identify all the technical components of the solution and how they will interact.
3-Develop a use case diagram outlining the different actors, information flows and process steps to illustrate the interaction between the business process and the solution.
4-Outline your approach to security to ensure authentication, authorisation and data security are adequately addressed within the technical architecture. Include how information will be transmitted and how the flow of information to the different stakeholders will be secured.
