Problem
Following surgery, Amanda's nurse wants to begin planning for discharge, which is supposed to be in three days. This morning, the nurse finds Amanda to be tense, pale and fidgety. She eats a few bites of toast and drinks her tea but states she "can't eat anything more. I have no appetite." Her vital signs yesterday were T 37.4, P 76, RR 18 and BP 116/74. This morning her vitals are T37.1, P 94, RR 22 and BP 138/88. She tells the nurse that although she doesn't have any pain, she didn't sleep well last night because she couldn't stop thinking about going home. The nurse responds that maybe she'll sleep better once she gets home in a few days. Amanda says with a quiet and shaky voice "there's no way I can go home. How will I manage?"
