An interesting paper written by Baker (2008) stated that the distribution center is usually the point where customer’s orders are assembled and then dispatched, so clearly the distribution center plays a very important role in the success or failure of many supply chain.
From the above statement, since ‘the distribution center plays a very important role in the success or failure of many supply chain.’ My question to all of you is this: How do you determine the efficiency of the company’s distribution center? What performance characteristics or indicators should the firm use to evaluate the effectiveness of its distribution center?
