What would the linear programming equation and solution be for this problem?

A problem we had at a previous employer was determining how many tires we needed to take to a track for testing. In this situation we had to determine based on the track how many tires we would estimate on using. Our hauler could transport roughly 300 tires and 3 cars or 400 tires and 2 cars. The factors that helped us determine how many tires and cars we would take to the test would be; the track we were going to, weather forecast, if the track surface had changed, how many days we had to test, what we were testing, how many drivers/cars we needed to take and the rubber compound of tires we were taking. Linear programming would have been helpful in determining if we could have gained more useful data out of running two cars more laps due to having extra tires or if we could have learned more utilizing 3 cars and running less laps. We could have looked at the historical data of on average how many laps we would get on a set of tires per car and if the rubber compound we were taking was estimated to perform better or worse than our historical data.
