A load of 14 tonnes is suspended at the end of a steel

1.A load of 14 tonnes is suspended at the end of a steel rope.If the load is subjected to a maximum acceleration/deceleration of2.5m/s2, when raised and lowered, calculate the diameter of therope needed to support the load. Assume the following:

Factor of safety (FOS) : 6

Ultimate Tensile stress (UTS) = 600 MN/m2

E = 200 GN/m2

calculate the tension in the rope(F=ma)?

2.Show that 1 millimeter of the 0.02 N H2SO4solution is equivalent to 1.0 milligram CaCO3.
