A foreman has ten employees from among whom he must select four to perform a certain undesirable task. Three of the ten employees belong to a minority ethnic group. The foreman selected all three minority employees (plus one other) to perform the undesirable task. The minority employees then protested to the union steward that they were discriminated against by the foreman. The foreman claimed that the selection had been completely random. What do you think?
