Research and Collect Data
1) Gather preliminary data about HIV/ AIDS in ruralcommunities in South Africa. Use the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website (www.CDC.gov) and the National Census website.
2) Use the data sets available for download to analyze them according to the variables of interest that you may have such as gender, age, and race.
3) Organize the data in an excel spreadsheet.
4) Generate a report to deliver the information on the topic and region issue.
5) Generate a Fact Sheet that includes the following:
a) What population is affected?
b) What is the age, gender, race, socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, religion, et cetera of the target population?
c) What segment of the South African community is affected? Give the percentage.
d) What are the risk factors and what can people do to prevent this problem?
Where should community members go for help with this issue?
