The permanent resident flora of the skin is:

Staphylococcus epidermidis, Diphtheroids, Micrococcus species, Staphylococcus aureus (i.e., small numbers), Non pathogenic Neisseria species, Alpha-hemolytic and non hemolytic streptococci, Propionibacterium species, Peptostreptococcus species, and so on.

Non-resident transient flora is removed from the skin since of the low pH, fatty acids from sebaceous secretions and existence of lysozyme.
