Sensory receptors are said to be the structures which are specialized in acquiring of the information, such as pH, mechanical pressure, temperature, chemical environment and luminosity, transmitting them to central nervous system. Sensory receptors are the specialized cells, such as, the photoreceptors of retina, or specialized interstitial structures, like, the vibration receptors of the skin. In last case they transmit the information to the dendrites of sensory neurons joined to them. There exist sensory receptors which are the specialized terminations of the neuronal dendrites such as the olfactory receptors.
