The three mains parts in which neuron can be didactically separated are: cell body, dendrites and axon.

Dendrites are projections of plasma membrane which get neural impulse from other neurons. The cell body is where nucleus and main cellular organelles are situated. Axon is long membrane projection which transmits neural impulse at distance to other neurons, toward muscle cells and toward other effectors cells.
