In some living-beings asexual reproduction takes place by many means: binary division, budding, schizogony, grafting and so on. In asexual reproduction of eukaryotes mitosis is the method by which the constituent cells of the new beings are formed.

The term mitosis doesn’t apply to prokaryotes as it includes nuclear division and eukaryotic structures.
