How is the neuronal repolarization attained
In chemical terms, how is the neuronal repolarization attained?

Repolarization is the return of membrane potential from action potential (+35 mV) to the resting potential (-70 mV). Whenever the membrane reaches its action potential voltage gated sodium channels close and voltage gated potassium channels open. Therefore sodium stops entering into the cell and potassium begins to exit. Thus the repolarization is due to the exiting of potassium cations from the cell. The repolarization causes the potential difference temporarily to rise beneath –70 mV, beneath the resting potential, a phenomenon termed as hyperpolarization.
