Gastrulation refers to the process through which portion of the blastula wall go through the invagination in the blastocele, making a tube known as archenteron (primitive intestine). Cells of inner side of the tube form endoderm (germ layer) and the cells of outer side form the ectoderm (another germ layer). It is beginning of the tissue differentiation in the embryonic development.
