Formation of the sperm cells, or spermatogenesis, starts with the germ cell known as the spermatogonium (2n) which suffers teh mitosis and give birth to spermatocyte I (2n). The spermatocyte I undertake meiosis I and produce two spermatocyte II (n) which then undertake meiosis II and generate four spermatids (n). Every spermatid undertakes the maturation process known as the spermiogenesis and four sperm cells occurs.
