The formation of sperm cells, or let’s says spermatogenesis, begins with a germ cell which is termed as spermatogonium (2n) which experiences mitosis and gives birth to the spermatocyte I (2n). The spermatocyte I undergoes meiosis I and produces two spermatocyte II (n) which then undergo meiosis II and generate four spermatids (n). Every spermatid undergoes a maturation procedure known as spermiogenesis and four sperm cells appear.
