Krebs cycle is also named as the final common pathway of degradation of organic compounds since it is as well probable to generate or to produce acetyl CoA from the deprivation of lipids and proteins. because acetyl CoA is the substrate which starts the Krebs cycle, this procedure is called the final common pathway for the being activated through other organic molecules (or proteins and lipids) and not only through glucose.
