DNA ligases refer to those enzymes which are specialized in tying the complementary DNA chains which make the DNA double helix. These enzymes are used within the recombinant DNA technology in order to insert the pieces of DNA cut through the restriction enzymes into another DNA molecules submitted to the action of same endo-nucleases.
