Vaccines are not employed in the treatment of infections since they based on the primary immune response which takes about a week to take place and is not so extreme and efficient. Antivenom serums though are inoculated into the circulation and employed as an immediate treatment since they are made up of a big amount of immunoglobulin (or antibodies) which is potent against their relevant particular venom.
