Define Applications Development

Applications Development: It is a programming language and related utility programs which permit for the creation, development and execution of application programs. Most of the database management systems (DBMSs) comprise a complete application development system all along with a query language, report writer and the ability to interactively generate and manage database files.

When the development system is not part of a database package, it gives links to other databases through SQL, ODBC and other interfaces.
