Read the following:
I. Scenario 1:

ii. (P) Socrates is human.
iii. (C)Therefore, Socrates is mortal.
II. Scenario 2:
i. (P) All teachers are human.
ii. (P) Socrates is human.
iii. (C) Therefore, Socrates is a teacher.
Evaluate these two scenarios. Are there differences between the premise and argument of each scenario?
a) What role do you believe evidence can or should play in developing rational inferences?
b) By what criteria can you determine the strength of a conclusion supported with evidence?
