Investigates impact individuals-behavior on organizations

Discuss the below:

"Organizational behavior is a field of study that investigates the impact individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations, for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization's effectiveness" (Robbins & Judge, 2017, p.10). My understanding of OB is how people behave in a group/work setting compared to being alone and on their own. It studies and looks into the types of people that are working together, what their background and upbringing might be compared to the person that they are working with. It studies what was successful or in times, what wasn't successful and potentially why it wasn't. The importance of interpersonal skills in a workplace is keys to a successful business or company. People who have these skills are important to the progress and vision of a company. These people who have these skills work very well in groups, are great at communicating, and usually can get a point across for what needs to be done. Workplace discrimination is awful and can't believe it is still a thing in America today. It is awful for the people in the company, it can and will lower performance and cause a negative vibe throughout the company. Being an athlete I believe I work with interpersonal skills everyday. I am apart of a team, about 25 of us total and we all have to work together. There can be confrontation and arguments at times, but we all know and believe in the final goal and are always moving forwards towards it. It has helped me a lot in the "real world" with having to work with people and understand why they may do things and adapting to them.
