Remember, this class is a culmination of all of your classes at AIU-more specifically, your Criminal Justice classes. The topic you select for your thesis should be carefully considered and one that can be covered in your limited amount of time while remaining interesting to you and your audience. Although you have received classroom instruction concerning public-sector careers, do not forget about the private-sector careers.

One is in the western states and the other is located in the Northeast, and both locations process fingerprints and other forensics evidence. Did you know that one of the fast-food restaurant chains has a huge security department that is responsible for global security and an Intelligence unit that tracks terrorism worldwide? Also, did you know that every professional sports team, most Fortune 500 companies, and amusement parks have security, quick response teams, and investigation teams?
In the selection of your topic for your final project, examine all possible areas of interest, both in the public and private sectors. Research topics of interest in which you would love to have a career.
This topic Is Important since understanding the cause of Juvenile delinquents is a step towards enacting effective juvenile delinquency prevention interventions. The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (2017) notes that the rate of juvenile arrests, persons aged between 10 and 17, has been declining since 2000 but the rate is still high. In 2000, there were a total of 6, 493.6 per 100, 000 individuals aged 10-17. The number reduced to 6, 072.8 per 100, 000 individuals in 2006 and to 4, 856.8 per 100, 000 persons in 2010. Further, the number declined to 3, 059.9 per 100, 000 persons in 2014 and 2,551.7 per 100,000 persons in 2016. The number has been declining but still remains high.
Therefore, this makes this issue worth exploring. In this topic, I anticipate to explore the factors that lead to juvenile delinquency. In this research, I anticipate to use the existing literature to explore on my topic. Various databases, in particular, related to criminology will be valuable sources of literature regarding the topic under investigation.
